zebNet Keyfinder recovers Windows registration keys.

zebNet Keyfinder is freeware, which means you can download and install it at no charge and use it as a much as you want. This is the kind of program you run once when you need it and then forget about. The purpose of the program is to recover Windows registration keys that have become lost.

Windows registration keys are necessary to demonstrate your Windows license, download the software, install it, update it and so forth. If you have misplaced your key, the good news is that Windows stores a copy, and so if you have a current installation, you can reclaim the key via this software.

To do this, this program may have to search the BIOS, the Windows registry and other areas. This search generally takes no more than several minutes and often completes much faster than that. Once you have the reclaimed key, you can save it as a digital file as well as write it down or have the program print out a physical copy via a printer.

The Keyfinder application works with many different versions of Windows. Support includes XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 as well as Microsoft Windows Server editions. The program works whether you install the original copy yourself or received a laptop or desktop PC that came with Windows preinstalled. Note that some licenses for preinstalled Windows editions are limited.

zebNet Keyfinder has not been update much since its initial release. Support for newer operating system versions was added but not much else. There are some bugs that have been there since launch. The program will crash from time to time, but there is nothing catastrophic to deal with.
